Welcome to my travel blog, where I will be posting updates from my architectural journey along the Silk Road in China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkey, finally ending up in Marco Polo’s home town, Venice.
This trip is made possible by the Howe Travelling Fellowship at Shepley Bulfinch. I would also like to thank members of the Shepley Alumni Group for their generous support.

missing you already!
Hi Tad, sorry, but where is this mosque? https://thelongroadtovenice.com/2011/07/01/
I’d like to use your photo of the ceiling in a workshop on Processing (http://processing.org/) if that’s ok with you.
I would imagine that you’ve read Calvino’s Invisible Cities…
Happy travels,
Joelle (http://joelledietrick.com/)
Joelle,
The mosque is in the Registan in Samarkand. Feel free to use the photo.
I’ve definitely read Invisible Cities, and was thinking a lot about it on my trip.
Best.

Oh, sorry!
please just tell me what your camera photographer.
muhsen.muhaqeq@gmail.com
I used a Nikon DSLR with a 24mm tilt-shif lens, and a 50mm lens.
Well done! I like how you laid out your travels on a map. Wonderful pictures. What is Hepley Bulfinch and what is their role in your travels?
Hello travellers and photographers ! Very nice site/blog!
I would like to ask you if you allow me to use your picture of Rodin’s Door of the hell to illustrate my father’s manuscript about philosophy of fine arts. It is published only online and only in German at http://www.vietinghoff.org. The resolution/size would be 72/300 and your name will be mentioned.
Thank your for your reply!
All the best, Alexander
